The Globelics network was started twenty years ago, established in 2002 with the first international conference in 2003. The Network is celebrating the accomplishments of these two decades with a series of events:
- International workshops in late 2022 and early 2023 (online)
- Events at the Globelics international conference 2023 (Kerala, India).
The distinctive contribution of the network has been to view issues of innovation and learning from the standpoint of global development. Rooted in the evolutionary perspectives of the economics of innovation, the network has grown more interdisciplinary as well as theoretically and empirically diverse over its two decades.
The celebration events will feature dialogues on past accomplishments and future research challenges, with voices of emerging leaders joining those of founders. All the Globelics continents will be included: Africa, Asia, and Latin America, along with Europe and North America.
The open online events will be the following.
- October 29, 2022: Knowledge-based development and local learning economies
- November 26, 2022: Globalization and structural transformation
- February 1, 2023: Technological change and emerging technologies
- March 4, 2023: Environmentally sustainable development
- April 1, 2023: Innovation for inclusive development
The events will be timed to accommodate network participants from different time zones.
