Initiation

Indialics was launched at the International Seminar on Innovation, Sustainability and Development at NISTADS, New Delhi June 2011.

Key Activities

Since then Indialics, together with other stakeholders, has organised an international conference and a training programme for the research scholars and university/college teachers.

The international conference on “Development and Innovation in the Emerging Economies” was co-organised with the Centre for Development Economics and Innovations Studies (CDEIS), Punjabi University in November 2012. As part of the conference a special interactive session for the Phd scholars was organised. Both Mammo Muchie and Keun Lee from Globelics participated.

In addition, a 21 day training programme on Innovation and Development was organised in January 2013 together with the Rubber Board of India and CDS. The training programme had a field visit component to study the innovation system in the natural rubber sector, and the participants prepared a report based on this. Olav Wicken from TIK joined the training programme as a faculty and led the field visit. Vandana Ujjual from SPRU joined as one of the resource persons.

The Indialics coordinator, Prof Lakhwinder Singh, is located at Punjabi University throught the support of the Vice Chancellor.
