Dear researchers on innovation and development,
Following the twist in the world economic order caused by COVID-19, we would like to highlight that the Special Issue ‘Financing of innovation for development in the Global South’ (in Innovation and Development) also welcomes papers related to innovation, development and finance in the context of the ongoing health crisis.
While being a global health problem, COVID-19 affected countries of the Global South in particular ways: greater disparities between economic classes and inequalities, inability to enforce social distancing or other precautionary measures, greater financial uncertainties – are just some of the problems felt especially strong in the Global South. Economic downturn is affecting less developed regions in the strongest terms. We therefore welcome contributions that address the new challenges that the pandemic brought to the Global South. We also welcome papers, unrelated to the COVID crisis but that are aligned with the thematic track of the Special Issue.
